Q: What is my co-pay, and how does it get paid?

A: Before meeting with Karen, insurance is verified and a client portal is completed. Oftentimes, client sessions are covered entirely by their Medicare and supplemental insurance. If there is a co-pay, this amount is determined by the insurance policy, which gets confirmed when benefits are verified. Typically, a co-pay is in the range of $9 - $40 per session. At the beginning of the year, some policies require a deductible to be fulfilled prior to full coverage of sessions. Clients will always be informed of these details prior to working with Karen.

Q: How am I billed?

A: You are not billed by Karen Faith, LLC. Once insurance benefits are verified and the client portal is completed, all billing is managed online through our HIPAA-compliant software platform (Simple Practice). If the coverage is through insurance, claims are submitted directly to the insurance company through the online platform (Simple Practice).

~

Q: What if the client is unable to complete the online client portal?

A: The client portal must be completed in order for Karen to see a client.

~

Q: Does Karen see couples/families?

A: Yes!

~

Q: My doctor/health care provider/family member/friend suggested I talk to Karen, but I'm really not sure if I need her services.

A: If you're feeling uncertain, Karen would be glad to have a 15-minute conversation to discuss your questions/concerns. There is no charge for this phone call.

Q: Where does Karen meet with clients?

A: Karen sees clients in person, at her office located in West Bloomfield. She also sees clients via telehealth, which is supported by a HIPAA-compliant therapy platform. Home visits are determined by Karen based on location and acuity of client needs.

~

Q: How does it work if a family member lives out of town and wants to participate in therapy sessions?

A: Karen can meet with multiple family members via the telehealth platform, and as a hybrid of in-person and telehealth. For example, if the client is located in Michigan, and family members are not local, an appointment can be scheduled with the client (and local family member(s), as requested) in the office, and others can connect via telehealth.

~

Q: I am a resident of New York (or any state other than Michigan or Florida). Can I work with Karen?

A: Michigan licensure requires clients of Karen Faith, LLC, to be residents of Michigan. If the client has family out of town, they may be included in session(s) as long as the client (resident of Michigan) is present. Karen is licensed to provide telehealth therapy to Florida residents.
